Today small and medium-sized businesses are one of motors of economic growth and job creation. The middle classes sector counts some 15.000 craft and trade companies including the hotel and restaurant sector as well as some liberal professions and employs presently en nearly 135 thousand people, little more than 40% of the internal employment. During the last ten years, it has created more than 30.000 additional new jobs. The companies of the middle classes sector also provide an essential part of the professional training of our youth and contribute efficiently to the consolidation of our economic tissue as well as to the expansion of the national labor market.
The Middle Classes Department is the privileged contact for small and medium-sized businesses and intervenes in four principal scopes: the legislation of establishment, government aid for middle market businesses, commercial practices and administrative simplification.
The action plan in favor of middle classes business is a political instrument for the department which allows to act in the direction of a horizontal political approach to the benefit of middle classes businesses.
